Before her recent death, the British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid designed an eight-piece collection of silver jewelry for the Danish brand Georg Jensen that is inspired by her famous projects.
The pieces were showcased recently in Zurich during the watch and jewelry event Baselworld, 17 – 24 of March.
The centerpieces of the capsule collection are a twisted cuff and a pebble-shaped ring that resemble Hadid’s recent project, the Wangjing Soho Towers in Beijing.
Along with the silver jewelry collection Zaha Hadid created an installation bearing the same design that was on show in the lounge area of the brand Georg Jensen.
“Working with Georg Jensen presented an opportunity to express our ideas in different scales and through different media,” said Hadid. “There is an inherent integrity within the organic structural logic found in nature and we often look at the coherence of natural systems when we work to create environments,” added Zaha Hadid.
