Rocio Montoya creates highly aesthetical surreal worlds by putting together graphical elements collected from magazines or books with old family postcards and vintage botanical illustrations.
All her onirical worlds revolve around the female body, the center of creation, the bond between humans and nature. The artist deconstructs the female body and embellishes it with the most poetical graphical “arabesques”.
“Her admiration for painting and surrealism is evident in addressing their creations, which you can see a clear trend to recreate atmospheres and distant situations to pure documentary reality, characterized by a delicate, haunting and poetic graphic style”, the artist states on her website.
