Aero, a wooden bike with minimal design

The bike was created by the architects Martino Hutz, Atanas Zhelev and Mariya Korolova whilst working on a wooden structural design for a house during their studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and was manufactured under the brand Aero as a prototype.

The Aero bike has a innovative frame made from very thin layers of birch glued together that splay out where the crank and peddles are fixed to increase stability and flexibility. The wooden frame can replace the traditional system with springs offering improved strength and elasticity.
